When relocating, you probably won't have the luxury of looking at every home on the market. Most likely, you'll be able to be shown a couple dozen, so narrow down the list first thing with these tips:

• Before leaving town, put your needs into one list. Then put your wants in another. When a property doesn't even meet your needs, there's no need to even spend time looking at it.
• Have a predetermined price range. This could be based on mortgage or a safe estimate of how much you'll get from the sale of your current home.
• Think about drive time to work or other activities. Traffic around St. Clair County could be different than what you're accustomed to, so tell me how long a commute you're willing to undertake.
